Are You Depressed? Google’s Latest Search Feature Will Help You!
Depression
is one of the problems that affect a majority of people these days. The
worst part of depression is people don’t even know that they are
suffering from this condition.
Well,
now we are living in a digital world. Nowadays, people end up looking
for information about medical problems in the internet and search giant
Google is always their first choice.
If
you remember, Google rolled out a new feature known as “Symptom Search”
last year which helped users to find out information about their
existing medical problems. Now, going one step ahead, the search giant
had rolled out the feature that allows users to screen themselves for
depression online.
While searching for clinical depression in the
smartphone version of Google’s search tool, users will be able to tap
the “Check if you’re clinically depressed” button. The user is then
taken to a quiz where they must answer about their own behavior.
This tool will help users to determine
the level of depression. After that, they can easily make a decision to
visit a doctor. This tool is made with the help of National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).
According
to NAMI, clinical depression is the common condition with almost one in
five Americans experiencing an episode in their lifetime. However, only
50% of people get treatment.
The
feature is right now available to US users, it will be soon rolled out
to other countries. So, what do you think about this? Share your views
